👋 Hi! Thanks for stopping by — I'm Nawara, a visual arts trained user experience designer and visual communicator focusing my talents on creating engaging experiences for the digital world. See more to learn about my journey! When I first heard the sound of the internet I knew I wanted to create in the limitless and magical world, but felt this pull towards traditional painting and drawing. Growing up, I loved every moment of bringing life on a canvas, but the curiosity of the digital world never truly left my mind.A few years later, I received my first Wacom tablet as a gift and I felt so empowered and excited to create.Layout, typography, infographics, slide decks, websites, interactive PDFs -- all intrigued me and I kept absorbing all the knowledge I could. And then one day... I saw the most beautiful data visualizations and the stories that visual communicators told about the world around us and I became obsessed with data, graphs, line charts, and how those illustrations could leave such an impact. While I was able to express the creative and technical side of my career through design and other avenues, I found myself often looking for collaboration -- I wanted to participate among a team of superpowered individuals who took the most challenging problems and solved them. I wanted to be thrown into the creative chaos of projects and help untangle the mess to reveal an impactful and valuable solution. I found the collaboration through leadership, in employee resource groups, stretch projects, and innovative initiatives by just saying "yes". After many yeses later, I now find myself thriving in ambiguity and complex problems that live in the center of user experience, visual communications, design, technical documents, and business. I continue to grow where my curiosity takes me while utilizing my superpowers of strategy, connection, design, and motivation all within the world of technology. If you're interested in learning more about my experiences, my newsletter, Reframe Wednesdays offers insights around early careers, corporate culture, and diversity. *Thoughts, experiences, and perspectives are my own and are not a representation of previous or current employers.*
