CEFAS Manager of the national CEFAS shellfish program for England & Wales, under the Aquatic Animals Regulations 2009; including all audit inspections and authorisations of all shellfish farms.• CEFAS Manager of the Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) Program, a multi government agency programme involving the development and utilisation of the Habitat Regulations Assessment of all Aquaculture projects in a European Marine Zone. • Ensure all auditors are appropriately qualified and trained to fulfil their roles regarding shellfish auditfor England & Wales.• Auditor/Regulator for the English government on behalf of the Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA). I produced various species of micro algae and shellfish for a commercial market. I oversaw and held responsibility for the day to day running of Ireland’s largest shellfish hatchery. I was involved in the original start up and construction of the facility.

Beagle Bay, Broome, Western Australia

My duties included constructing a working pearl oyster hatchery, such as the plumbing, filtration system and algae room and act as a supervisor for two other staff and to delegate tasks. Now my duties include assisting the manager as a supervisor in the production of algae and pearl oyster larvae.

I began work for Clipper Pearls(Autore) initially as a deckhand, I was later promoted to a full time contract as an aquaculture biologist for the offshore sites, my duties required me to select broodstock and supervise the grading and growout of spat oysters.I also worked as a diver for the company and became very confident diving and performing maritime and farm construction tasks above and below the surface in all environments and wheather conditions. I also have become efficient and confident driving outboard and jet powered vessels with submersed divers in the water, that requires quick reactions and confident boat driving skills

Durning a training program I worked and learned how to produce high quality algae, artemia and rotifers and also how to grow several aquatic species specifically barramundi; monitoring food supply, water parameters, gamete status and relevance to spawning and growout of stock from larvae stage to adult stage and broodstock.

I undertook a training program with a sister company to understand the skills needed for my role as a hatchery technican. This involved working for approximately two months in Indonesia learning how to grow algae and pearl oyster larvae and how to perform general hatchery procedures efficently.
