While my road through higher education hasn't gone exactly how I expected, it has provided me with a wealth of opportunities to expand my knowledge, skills, experience, and expectations of myself. I began my career at The University of Cincinnati as history major focusing in museum work and public education. Though I have a deep love for history and am thankful for how much it has helped shape me, I found it was not the profession I wanted to pursue full time. I did find that it was the historical approach to organization and coordination that I truly excelled at. This has rang true during my efforts in the music and live entertainment industry which has resulted in the sole foundation of one company, Terminal Audio, and the co-foundation of another, Passport Club Entertainment. Both businesses require a wide range of both social and intellectual skills including managing complex budgets, resolving professional conflicts, and balancing demanding logistical calendars.My work at Bosca Accessories has been equally eye opening.Working for a small company means you have a job title and assigned tasks but it also means being able to answer to call when a problem arrises. Whether that is deciphering a mixup in Meta's Business Suite or learning the ins and outs of the backend of Amazon Seller Central, it all must be done quickly and correctly. Working there throughout the pandemic, a period of extreme uncertainty, taught me many lessons about rapidly adapting a business plan and being able to pivot your focus within a days notice. Initially our focus was in business to business sales working primarily with larger fashion resellers but since 2020 has become almost exclusively direct sales and online retail. Needless to say that requires an extensive additional set of skills!
