Excited to be part of Australia's largest youth-led organisation, I am a strong supporter of AYCC's mission to build a generation-wide movement to solve the climate crisis before it's too late.Effective, creative communication is key to maintaining engagement with established supporters, and reaching new audiences from which to recruit volunteers and supporters.My role included: strategically planning communications around local and national campaigns; providing leadership to the Queensland and the inter-state communications teams; drafting, designing, and publishing written and graphical collateral; and managing social media presence across Facebook (facebook.com/aycc.qld), Instagram (@ayccqld), and Twitter (@aycc.qld). This helped grow the Queensland chapter’s presence, both online and at the community level.Achievements:- Grew Facebook page engagement by 204%, reach by 108%, andnew follower acquisition by 89%- In 3 months, grew Instagram followers by 89% and averageengagement by 410%- Helped win key milestone on StopAdani campaign by building a surge of social media activity at key moments, including creating and distributing a suite of meme, and directing an online video which reached 23,000 people and was shared 145 times

I am proud to assist the diverse team at the Health Contact Centre in adopting and adapting to change. This enables each unit to better deliver health care, by embedding acceptance of new technology within the workplace culture and communicating best-practice use of technical solutions.Using the ADKAR model of change as a strategic framework, I employ a variety of consultative and communications tactics to build staff readiness and combat cultural resistance to changing work practices and systems.I developed and delivered comprehensive training in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and Genesys Workspace telephony to over 80 health professionals across the contact centre's core services, encompassing 13HEALTH, 13QUIT, Chronic Disease Management, and Child Health.Achievements:- Achieved over 90% staff satisfaction with training delivered- Overhauled software and procedures for Quitline service, achieving 90% staff confidence and 0 disruption to service delivery within 1 week of systems rollout- Exceeded industry standard of 75% change readiness across each business unit

Working as a counsellor for Quitline, supporting Queenslanders who want to quit smoking, taught me three valuable lessons which I apply in my change and communications work today:• Communication is a two-way street. Ensuring your audience feels listened to is the most valuable first step in building a trusting relationship• Data should inform any and all advice. But data alone is insufficient to encourage behaviour change - emotions are the drivers of human decision-making• Change is never successfully enforced.
