General Duties & Responsibilities Performs comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinationsInterprets laboratory and diagnostic testsInterprets and correlates subjective and objective dataFormulates a differential diagnosis and establishes a working diagnosisDevelops a treatment plan for neurosurgical conditions within the scope of practice and in conjunction with the neurosurgeonImplements therapeutic intervention for specific conditions where appropriateExercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising neurosurgeon or other healthcare professionalsHospital Duties & Responsibilities Performs first assistant dutiesCloses deep and superficial woundsAssists with neurosurgical procedures, including craniotomies, spinal procedures (including instrumentations) and microscopic proceduresConducts hospital rounds of all patients including intensive care unitsWrite orders and progress notesPerforms admission history and physicalsOrders appropriate laboratory and radiographic tests, such as MRIs, myleograms, bone scans and other radiographic studiesPerforms appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies, such as lumbar punctures, ventriculostomies, myleograms, and placement of tong traction and halo fixation devicesEvaluates and clarifies clinical conditionsFormulates and implements treatment and therapeutic plans for hospitalized patientsHandles discharge planning and dictates discharge summariesOffice Duties & Responsibilities Sees all new office patients and completes a thorough history and physical examination that is problem-oriented for neurosurgical conditionsPresents the patient to attending neurosurgeonsHelps to formulate treatment plansOrders appropriate radiographic studiesPerforms office procedures such as local blocksEvaluates post-operative patientsReviews x-rays, MRIs and CT scans of hospitalized patients and office patients with the attending neurosurgeon

• Assisted Principle Investigator in initiating, organizing, and managing Phase 3, Phase 4, and Phase 5 Clinical trials• Actively communicated with study Sponsors and Institutional Review Boards to ensure participant safety• Authored and implemented study protocols and standard operating procedures to specific Sponsor, Company and FDA standards• Developed Final reports for study Sponsors and FDA officials encompassing the outcome of the study in a timely manner• Organized workers in an efficient manner in order to complete a task• Trained in standard testing procedures FDA and EPA Good Laboratory Practices and FDA Good Clinical Practices
