I am an aspiring engineer and recent graduate of McMaster University with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and Society and an Interdisciplinary Minor in Sustainability. I am currently registered with the PEO as an EIT and am pursuing a P.Eng designation. My past experiences in industry are diverse, with work across various industries including design and fabrication, food manufacturing, cannabis and pharmaceutical, and residential solar design. I intend to use my career to contribute in some measure to the shift of industry towards a de-carbonized, and environmentally sustainable state, whether this be through the design of energy systems, machinery, processes, or products.I have a great passion for technology with specific interests in energy storage, power generation, waste heat recovery, machinery design and fabrication, materials recycling, and industrial ecology. Outside of work, I am a tinkerer with an insatiable curiosity about how the world around me works.My skills include:- A firm understanding of mechanical theory and mathematics, forming a basis for design decisions, analysis, and approach to troubleshooting.- A data focused approach to problem solving.- A strong proficiency with various CAD and CAM softwares (Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, MasterCAM, Slic3r, and Rhino 3D).- Academic experience with finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics software (ANSYS, and ANSYS CFX)- A mechanical aptitude and familiarity with both hand tools and machine tools along with their various operations. This knowledge advises my mechanical design choices.- Proficiency with MATLAB and the Microsoft Office Suite.- Experience with drone surveying of residential rooftops and generation of rooftop models for solar array layouts. Some highlights of my previous employments include:- Design and fabrication of a rotating tool platform for a physical vapor deposition coating machine- Resolution of an ongoing compatibility issue between an accessible CAM software and in-shop machining centers arising from truncation errors created by mismatch between decimal precision used by the machine and positional values generated by the CAM post processor. Solution involved editing the post processing configuration file to ensure positional precision was consistent between software and machine. - Reduction of weight spread in novel pre-rolled joint production process resulting from inflight and scale vibrations - Development of statistically significant measurement test to quantify the "oiliness" of various doughs.
