I began my career as a Registered Nurse in the neuroscience intermediate care unit at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. I developed my knowledge and skills as a neuroscience nurse for a year in that position before transitioning into the neuroscience intensive care unit. I have since achieved national certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse and have taken a leadership role as a Unit Coordinator/ Charge Nurse in the neuroscience ICU. I have a passion for providing my clients with compassionate, evidence-based care as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the acute care setting. My primary experience involves working with patients experiencing pathologies related to acute cerebrovascular accidents, spinal cord injuries, neurological trauma, and multi-systems trauma. In March of 2019 I transferred with the blessings of my old unit to the Cardiovascular Medical Surgical ICU at TMH to specialize in care of patients requiring cardiac ventricular output assistance devices, extra-corporal membrane oxygenation, intra-aortic balloon pump management, and other medical and surgical intensive care needs. I left TMH to became a travel ICU COVID nurse. After becoming travel weary, I returned home to Tallahassee and joined HCA Florida Capital Hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab as a procedural Nurse. I have found that I have a passion for serving persons experiencing health inequity and transitioned to Case Management at HCA Florida Capital Hospital. My next educational endeavor is with Florida State University in the Doctor of Nurse Practice Family Nurse Practitioner program. I look forward to continuing my education and continually advancing my practice and capabilities as a Nurse.
