PhD Candidate working on a Digital Health CRC research project to produce a co-designed user interface for a hospital based based Clinical Decision Support System.

This role allowed me to build and develop my understanding of healthcare technology, issues related to surgery, and to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders. As the Simulation Research Manager at ASERNIP-S I led the implementation of a two-year $320,000 research project examining the development of a self-directed learning program teaching basic laparoscopic skills to junior doctors in South Australia and Victoria. This project visited sites, provided training and performed participant assessments to gather data on an appropriate curriculum structure and delivery format. This role also required the development of budgets, numerous levels of… Show more As the Simulation Research Manager at ASERNIP-S I led the implementation of a two-year $320,000 research project examining the development of a self-directed learning program teaching basic laparoscopic skills to junior doctors in South Australia and Victoria. This project visited sites, provided training and performed participant assessments to gather data on an appropriate curriculum structure and delivery format. This role also required the development of budgets, numerous levels of organisational reporting and development monitoring and submission of ethics and governance applications. Although my Simulation Research Manager role has ended I continue to provide Simulation Based Education laparoscopic skills training to the Adelaide University Surgical Society, the Flinders University Surgical Society, and the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand.
