I built out the backend, using performance statistics and comparison to optimize database query times and then horizontally scale the system to handle a rising number of requests per secondTechnologies Used: ExpressJS, NodeJS, Cassandra, New Relic, K6, EC2, Loader.io, NGINX- Achieved 16x increase in throughput by Cassandra node expansion and tuned server caching- Ensured adherence to Service Oriented Architecture by a “query first” database approach, improving query times by 50%- Overcame throughput bottlenecks via Loader.io and NGINX load balancing resulting in increase of RPS from 300 to 1600
