Engaging communities in recreation programs and activities for youth, adults, and families. I work collaboratively with organizations, businesses, and individuals to provide a variety of innovative programs and specialty events for the communities the Parks Department serves. Primary responsibilities include planning, administering, implementing, supervising, and evaluating a broad range of recreational and cultural programs in the core areas of: Arts & Culture, Environmental Stewardship; Lifelong Learning: Out of School Enrichment Programs; Special Events: Programs & Partnerships; and Sports & Fitness which meet the needs of Seattle's diverse communities. Promoting and marketing Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Associated Recreation Council (ARC) programs, facilities, and services in cooperation with community center advisory councils and Geographic district staff. Assist in recruiting, supervising and developing employees hired through a variety of funding sources to provide recreational programs.Assist in developing community partnerships (Public Schools, Community Service Providers, Social Service Agencies, etc.), maximizing limited resources and strengthening the neighborhood. Provide leadership, build teamwork, and enhance skills and abilities of staff and represent the department positively in the community.Provide input for the preparation of the department and advisory council annual budgets, develop activity budgets for recreation programs, and prepare grant proposals.Support the work of the department by collecting data and providing reports related to facility use, revenue/expenditures, performance measures and other administrative information.Pursue resources for the department as well as program support, including the solicitation of donations.Work collaboratively with other Geographic Assistant Recreation Center Coordinators in the design, production, and distribution of the Geographic District brochure.

Work includes a variety of administrative duties including experience with the uses of CLASS software, Word, Excel, and Desktop Publishing in a Windows based environment.Provide excellent customer service and contribute to accurate program and facility information.Develop multitasking skills, ability to work on self-managed projects as part of a team, as well as strong interpersonal communication capabilities.
