Working as an investor relations and business development consultant to small-cap companies helping achieve successful M&A outcomes. Clients include ASX Avanco Resources (Brazilan copper producer) and TSX Coro Mining (Chilean copper exploration) and their respective private equity shareholders, in addition ah-hoc advisory and private businesses across the resource sector looking to IPO. Highlights include leading a comprehensive US$50million refinancing, laying the investor relations foundations at for a US$4oo million takeover- and along the way, improving my Portuguese and Spanish language skills.

Hong Kong

Member of the Executive with responsibility for all corporate communications and general corporate support for a Sino-Russian iron ore producer quoted on the Hong Kong Exchange. Being based in Hong Kong and working frequently out of Beijing and Shanghai, this was a critical time to garner a deep understanding of Chinese demand patterns for commodities and business practices in general. The Hong Kong listing taught me how to develop separate retail investor programs to supplement the more traditional institutional investor activities. With a small team we excelled, winning over a dozen awards for our work. I am most grateful for my colleagues support, showing me how to adapt my western thinking, to Asian audience. These are skills that I developed with patience and empathy, and now, back in London, provide me a unique insight in to the 'China factor', the key demand factor in the resources sector. Ranked #3 by Institutional Investor for Investor Relations in the Asia Pacific Region 2012 and 2013. Annual report repeatedly won gold at the Galaxy Awards, and honours mention at the LACP and Mercury Awards, and in 2012 and 2013 in particular for corporate governance and social responsibility reporting at the Asset Asian Awards.

Head of Investor Relations for $50 billion IPO on London and Hong Kong Exchanges - largest IPO in the sector and for 20 years on the London Exchange. I led all investor relations aspects for the listing, including preparation of the investment case, leading the broker education and research, materials production, and arranging the investor roadshows, marketing to over 250 targeted investors in 12 countries over 2 weeks. One of the main highlights for me was using my network to bring in corner stone investors, notably in London, but particularly in Hong Kong. Demand for the shares was oversubscribed, allowing for a selective allocation and pricing at the upper end of expectations.

Starting with one mine and an ASX NL listing, Aquarius grew to 5 operations and being in the ASX 100, from AiM to the top of the FTSE 250 on the LSE, completing the first Black Economic Empowerment transaction in South Africa and the first in-bound listing on the JSE, as well as a highly-liquid ADR in the United States. Aquarius Platinum had been my top pick as an equity analyst, so I put my career to the test joining the management team with whom I had built a rapport and working the communications function from industry challenger to industry favourite, as the share price multiplied 15 times, over 4 years. This was recognised for two years in a row as #2 ranked for Investor Relations (Asia Pacific) by Institutional Investor Asia, the highest ranking for a resources company.

The business was a partnership with another investor relations professional which allowed me to leverage my success with Aquarius and work with other high-growth mining companies at the time, including Lion Ore Mining, which was sold to Norilsk for $6billion, Aricom, which was acquired by Peter Hambro mining for over $500million and pro-bono work for the South African government promoting black economic empowerment in the US and UK.

This was leveraged by corporate finance and awarded with fund raising and corporate broking mandates.
