I changed careers in 2010, took "the jump" and co-founded a technology start up called DataScout which we successfully exited to Informatica in 2012, and the technology is still sold as an Informatica product (Cloud MDM).The highs and lows of this experience lit an entrepreneurs passion for building companies and investing in them. Since then I've built out customer success, professional services and technology advisory functions for some of the fastest growing SaaS companies on the planet - Mulesoft and Databricks - across EMEA and APJ, always focused on outcomes for our customers and value for our shareholders.I love the chaos of the early (pre-process) years; having a founders mind-set, making something out of nothing, solving problems every day and the longer term reward of seeing people define their career by taking a chance on a relatively unknown, unproven software company.I enjoy speaking to and advising the founders of early stage start-ups about Customer Success and GTM strategy. Particularly around SaaS <> Consumption/PAYG business models.I typically invest in B2B software business models, with a preference for companies commercialising their open source project or where the founders are technically hands on and the product is being built in-house. Typically pre-Series B as this profile of companies fits where we can add the most value to the founders as active advisors and sounding boards for their GTM strategy, product market fit and organisational design for scale.
