I have over 20 years’ experience in water resources management and regulation. I provide expert advice and guidance to the water industry on development of their statutory water resources management plans and drought plans. My work involves working directly with internal and external customers with a strong focus on delivering outcomes at both a local and strategic level.My specialism is local and regional water resources planning and regulation. I have worked in local, regional and national operations teams in a variety of roles that seek to help secure the proper use of water resources. I have led on the technical review of individual water company Water Resources Management Plans (WRMPs) and statutory Drought Plans over 3 planning rounds in the East and South East of the England and been responsible for the production of evidence to support the Environment Agency representations on these plans and advice to the Secretary of State on the acceptability of these plans. I currently hold an overview for the Environment Agency's work with water companies on strategic water planning in the East of England. I am member of the Water Resources East technical delivery group and lead the Environment Agency's input to WRE on water planning issues. I have proven leadership and analytical skills and have worked on a wide range projects including strategic water resource options, drought management, including drought permit assessment and determination, abstraction licensing, water resources assessment and system modelling. I thoroughly enjoy my work and sharing my knowledge. I look forward to working with others to find new ways to manage water resources and provide greater protection for the environment.
