I work in the Urban Planning and Economic Development divisions of the City of Iowa City's Department of Planning and Community Development. I work with economic development matters relating to business retention and expansion in Iowa City. I also work on rezoning, subdivision and special exception applications, Zoning Code amendments, and the Iowa City Comprehensive Plan update.

I worked as a law clerk writing memos, briefs and motions and conducting research for attorneys. I attended hearings and trials with supervising attorneys.

I worked with the U.S. Department of State's International Visitor Leadership Program, connecting foreign business and political leaders with their counterparts in the United States. I also worked with the Fulbright Program and helped to organize a week-long enrichment conference for Fulbright scholars in Washington, D.C.
