Currently I am actively involved in the development of the Cyber Analytics capability at ANZ. Notable achievements to date include:- Assuming the role of ANZ Technical Lead during the initial Advanced Cyber Analytics (ACA) platform build phase to ensure smooth integration into the ANZ environment.- Coordination of a full rebuild of all ACA Hadoop clusters without impact to existing project deadlines. - Played a critical role in the integration of Splunk Analytics for Hadoop and the Cloudera Hadoop Cluster to ensure optimal performance outcomes for the Security Operations Centre.Responsibilities include: - Accountable for overall management of the Hadoop cluster and key infrastructure components underpinning the ACA platform.- Design and build scalable data pipelines using batch and streaming ingestion solutions.- Actively collaborate with the ACA user community to structure and present data for optimal access and performance based on analytical user stories.- Develop and implement platform standards to provide a stable foundation for platform growth.

During my time working as a Database Engineer my primary focus was to deliver initiatives to directly improve the overall stability of the Oracle Database Fleet. My most memorable achievements were:- Implementation of the build automation service offering for Oracle databases within ANZ, delivering build consistency, improved time to market and associated cost savings.- Lead technical SME in the migration and upgrade of ANZ's largest data warehouse (ECDM) to address an outstanding critical audit exposure;- Developed, designed and coordinated the implementation of a complex migration solution to uplift and stabilise the Transactive Banking database platform.Responsibilities included:- Develop and maintain database deployment patterns and security and configuration standards used across ANZ's entire Oracle database fleet.- Implement tooling to ensure security and build consistency against industry best practice.- Socialise technology solutions with key stakeholders to ensure appropriate support.- Provide guidance and leadership to Database Operations team during high severity incidents.

Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of project delivery from a database build perspective from the design phase to Service Transition to the Operations team.- Build and support business critical financial OLTP and DSS Oracle environments.- Perform day to day administration, incident and change management activities whilst adhering to strict change control and risk management guidelines.- Implement database recovery strategies using both RMAN and traditional backup methods. This includes performing recovery and DRP testing as required.- Assist Architecture Team with design decisions related to database infrastructure and associated Solution Architecture Documentation.- Design, implement and manage proactive database maintenance activities, written in Shell, PERL and PL/SQL.
