The Real Time Sports Editor is responsible for managing all cross-platform sports content gathering and producing operations at the station during their assigned shift. Duties include sports story scouting, writing for and monitoring digital platforms, field crew management and monitoring of sports-related news tips. The Real Time Sports Editor acts as a sports content distributor for both broadcast and digital channels, duties that include sports news writing, show stacking and editing, sports-related social media oversight and pushing out sports-related web and mobile breaking news alerts.

I write Chiefs analysis articles for KSHB. I’m an analyst on our Chiefs centric podcast 4th and 1. I edit for our 4pm, 5pm, 6pm & 10pm newscast. And produce sports three days a week.

I produced Redzone (30 minute Chiefs Show). I spent a great deal of time at all Chiefs practices & press conferences. I'm very active on Twitter @Jacobs71 covering the Chiefs. As a producer, I design the shows and what content will be in them. The flow and pace of the next 30 minutes. And what graphics you will see to help illustrate the point of the analyst or host on the show. I also made sure our shows are on time and that we hit all required breaks. I also guide the director, chyron, audio and editors on my vision for the show. In the photographer role, I'm assigned a location and do my best to tell the story through visual imagery.

In this role, I did the same as above. I had more responsibility in editing the desired highlights and content for the show.

I broke down the 10 teams in conference at the time from top to bottom. I contacted coaches and players to get their insight on the upcoming games. And directed the viewers towards which games to observe during the weekend.
