But new technology allows fewer experts to perform the work quicker and better, and also opens up the process and benefits to non-experts. DataRobot's automated machine learning is a natural step in democratizing AI for the world.My job at DataRobot is to make customers successful and happy. Can you imagine what it must have been like to develop electrification systems in the 1880s, or aircraft in the 1910s? I manage AI, machine learning and data scientist teams in the Analytics & Cognitivegroup. I excel in developing business-focused AI strategies, mapping complex business problems to state-of-the-art technologies, and leading innovation-focused teams to generate exciting solutions.Here are some projects I've worked on recently:⇨ Innovation Strategy & Operating Models: Managed hybrid team from multiple service lines to develop three advanced innovation operating models at an integrated oil & gas major. Models were designed to nurture and grow technical innovations from concept to enterprise-scale service delivery. Performed pilot implementations of nine projects across the three operating models to prove technical feasibility and customer value. Technology areas include Voice UI (Alexa for Business Beta), Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (Oculus Rift) and Predictive Analytics (IBM Data Science Experience), implemented with Lean Startup principles. ⇨ Data Science and Machine Learning Competition Wins: Created and led two teams to first place in different competitions. In one competition my team beat 157 other teams to predict the logarithm of Airbnb prices using a combination of Principal Component Analysis, external feature integration and an ensemble analytical model to optimize RMSE. Technical tools included DataRobot, Alteryx and Jupyter Notebook. In the other competition my team achieved victory with a solution focused on affinity marketing using social media profiles in an IBM Watson environment including Visual Recognition and a custom apriori algorithm implementation on Bluemix.

I worked in IBM’s Watson Group, a leading-edge business with a mission to usher in the new era of cognitive computing. My job was to design machine learning systems to solve complicated business problems. I led teams to implement systems within real-world constraints. And I provided end-to-end solution outline via architecture and solution design artifacts. Here are two representative projects: ⇨ Web Chat Agent: I led the development and implementation of an automated web chat agent for a Fortune 100 wireless carrier. This chat agent interacts with customers and performs account maintenance—many users are unaware they are talking to an AI chatbot instead of a human agent. ⇨ Customer Support Agent: In this project, I directed efforts to troubleshoot hardware problems for customers of a Fortune 100 IT provider. My solution extracted and ingested data from unstructured sources, and respond to natural language queries on it. I turned around a troubled project and won customer acceptance for a year-long enhancement strategy.

I provided architectural, technical, and business expertise to cross-functional teams creating innovative, high-quality solutions focused on client business needs. I designed applications, developed application solutions, and integrated them with packaged applications. I made a number of significant contributions during my time here, including: ⇨ Revamped a troubled software implementation project, replacing the existing project structure with best practice enterprise IT architecture and project management methods. ⇨ Created an integration model between that later went into full production as an intelligent natural language response system powering a mass-market mobile app.
