I provided high quality, flexible and responsive advocacy and support for LGBTQ+ communities and individuals to report hate crime, creating direct or 3rd party reporting initiatives to provide community focused reporting pathways. I worked closely with Central North BCU Community Safety Unit to help identify and reach out to victims of hate crime and vulnerable people through the police CRIS and MERLIN reporting systems. I was the key LGBT lead for multidisciplinary liaison with statutory and voluntary organisations for joint case and partnership work and outreach. I held sole responsibility for developing the training programme on LGBT and Hate Crime and other equalities issues to partners including Camden Training and Development Service, LB Islington, MPS and local borough housing sectors. I co-founded and currently run the MPS wide “ICE Coffee” sessions (Informally Chatting Equalities). I organised regular social groups and events to combat social isolation with responsibility for recruitment and support of volunteers to help achieve the above.

Working within Age UK Camden's "Opening Doors London" programme, I was responsible for developing and delivering the activities programme for older LGBTQ+ communities. Managing a team of over 50 paid sessional staff and volunteers to deliver the above groups, providing supervision (group and one to one) with staff and volunteers. Dealing with membership enquiries, with casework and referrals to a variety of services, including LBGT and voluntary sector and housing/statutory sector services. Working one to one with clients presenting with higher support/mental health needs and client assessments for supported service delivery. Dealing with external statutory, voluntary, private, press and media enquiries. Design and delivery of internal (volunteers and staff) and external (contracted statutory) half and full day training on older and generic LGBT awareness and inclusion, including generic equalities awareness. Lead on partnership working with other local, regional and national services.
