In this high visibility position I report directly to our Executive Vice President and am responsible for managing projects, establishing policy and infrastructure between our Montreal and Palo Alto divisions following a corporate merger. Department Manager, Interconnect Design and ManufacturingResponsible for the engineering design and manufacturing of the DC harness product. Managed a diverse team of 12 engineers and designers, a shop supervisor, three manufacturing engineers and 40 technicians. • Responsible for the design and on-time delivery of the harness product, meeting all the system level requirements. • Created synergy and innovation between the design and manufacturing folks.• Managed yearly department budget of $12 Million. • Responsible for properly staffing department, including recruitment, training of personnel and performing work reviews. Achievements • Instituted a monthly “check-in” process to complement yearly reviews of direct reports which resulted in timely feedback and a department attrition rate of less than 2%. • Oversaw 5S and Lean Manufacturing processes implemented in manufacturing area resulting in a 7% cost reduction and 12% productivity increase. • Justified CER to senior VP’s which resulted in the procurement of a 45,000 point harness test machine. Completed within the $1.3 Million budget and on time.
