About Nick Mitchell

I’m a communications leader, audience strategist and former editor, with extensive experience of storytelling, publishing and brand building. I currently bring this expertise to my role leading the UK operations of Change.org, where I manage a comms team dedicated to amplifying the voices of individuals and movements. In my media career I've helped to create and lead some of the most innovative new publications in the UK, as well as revamp the content and audience strategies of major legacy brands. I have driven award-winning news coverage through data, investigations and audio journalism, and have always cultivated highly motivated and successful teams.Having started out at The Scotsman and helped shape the digital transformation of the newsroom, I then played a leading role in the launch of inews.co.uk, which has gone on to become a popular and award-winning home for the i newspaper online. In 2021 I launched and served as the editor of NationalWorld.com, a new national news brand which became one of the fastest growing websites in the UK by the following year, through its focus on original and explanatory journalism. In 2023 I decided to take on a new challenge outside of journalism at Change.org, the world’s biggest platform for everyday democracy. It’s a privilege to support our UK users to achieve meaningful impact with their campaigns, whether local, national or global.

Listed skills include Editorial, Social Media, Journalism, Blogging, and 23 others.
