I joined ConvEx in 2018, after 23 years at UBS. As a former structurer and a trader, I brought to the firm a detailed understanding of the transaction documentation, the way that investors think about the instruments, and the other markets that relate closely to convertibles, including fixed income, equity, and derivatives.Initially my work at ConvEx was focused on performing the calculations our clients needed, and helping them navigate the processes in their transaction documentation accurately and efficiently.More recently I have also been involved in the detailed documentation review prior to the launch of new issues, ensuring the calculations and processes run as intended.I am also leading ConvEx’s efforts to build our buy-side relationships, ensuring that they have all the information they need about the transactions we are involved in, in a way that supports both their needs and those of our issuer clients.

I was responsible for quoting markets in 50 European convertible bonds to the UBS convertible client base. This led to relationships with a variety of different clients - hedge funds, dedicated convertible and general funds, private banks and retail investors - understanding their differing needs through ongoing discussions and face to face meetings. Simultaneously I was responsible for the risk management and hedging of my book, through a variety of hedging instruments such as stock, options, FX, bond futures and CDS. I also managed the associated corporate actions on the positions, including conversions, redemptions, dividend adjustments and stock splits.Throughout this role, I was heavily involved in the development, testing and rollout of new IT systems and new releases. I also was solely responsible for creating and maintaining a variety of Excel based applications for price contribution, live P&L and risk management.

As part of the market leading UBS synthetic convertible team, I was jointly responsible for pricing, structuring, issuing and booking new UBS issued synthetic and reverse convertibles. This provided not only significant P&L for the business, but additional funding the CB desk.After issuance, I was responsible for the initial hedge, screen quoting, corporate actions, conversions and redemptions. In additions, the team issued a product that tracked a CB index for which I developed a spreadsheet for the live pricing and risk management.
