My career kicked off a "couple" of years ago as a trainee legal secretary in the Chief Executive's department of Gt Yarmouth Borough Council where I indulged my love of typing on the conveyances produced by the solicitors. Not being quite so keen on the shorthand aspect of my role, I moved into the print industry still delightedly bashing away at a keyboard but now typesetting editorial content and advertising for magazines and newspapers. After redundancy a lot of years later, I moved back into administration secure in the knowledge that shorthand was no longer an issue. It was while providing holiday cover for the Directors' PAs I found that my experiences working to daily deadlines had given me the knack of organising other people's lives - even those pesky last minute changes of plan. I have taught myself how to use Word to an advanced level followed by Excel (although I'd perhaps put that at a healthy intermediate knowledge). I have the ability to learn different software applications with relative ease. Most recently, I have been providing customer service to both internal and external clients. Internally, I support engineers in the field by trouble shooting any issues they have in the use of apps for creating and confirming appointments plus resolving irregularities, however complex, they may have in the production of inspection reports. For clients, I provide a advise on the user of an online portal to enable then to access their inspection reports as well as assisting in the arranging of inspection and any other queries they may have. In addition to this, I provide training for a young, inexperienced team as well as mentoring.
Listed skills include Microsoft Word, Diary Management, Travel Planning, Microsoft Excel, and 7 others.
