I joined Croydon Mencap in April 2010. Prior to this, I have experience working for local authorities and national charities, helping and assisting vulnerable clients to assess services and maintaining their tenancies. I have experience in coordinating and running a Saturday Club for service users with Learning Disabilities and managing 3 staff. Unfortunately this valued club was closed, due to rising costs and lack of future funding. I still run and coordinate Croydon Mencap's 'Just for us Disco' whereby I manage 4 staff at each event, the event caters for up to 100 service users plus their support workers, from ages 18-75, these are held bi-monthly x 6 per year and are hugely over subscribed. I am also trained as a Welfare Benefits Advisor and operate a Welfare Benefits Service on Monday's and Tuesday's, helping carers and their cared to access disability related benefits, such as Employment Support Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payments, Carers Allowance, Housing and Council Tax Benefits, Blue Badge Applications and help to appeal decisions and requesting mandatory reconsiderations. I am qualified by Advice UK level 3 and also offer an ongoing advice role for a Family Navigator service and Carers Welfare service, which operates on Wednesday's, Thursday's and Friday's. Whereby carers and parents can access, Advice, Information & Guidance on learning disabilities and all issues that are currently affecting their caring role.

Worked to ensure vulnerable tenants paid rent and avoided eviction through rent arrears, working in a multi-agency style for the needs of vulnerable tenants to be fully met.
