Designed a motorized cable reel to evenly wind and unwind the tomato harvesting system's power cable as the system traverses along a row. The cable reel was designed to withstand harsh greenhouse environments.● Utilized SolidWorks to design & model parts/assemblies and create drawings● Sourced parts by accessing suppliers based on cost, lead time, and specifications● Performed Gates' belt and pulley calculations to select the belt and pulleys and determine the required belt tension● Created a detailed fabrication drawing package utilizing GD&T and coordinated with a contract manufacturerthat fabricated the parts according to the drawings● Assembled and performed the initial test on the cable reel subassembly
