After over 20 years of experience as a therapist and clinical supervisor, I have finally put pen to paper and have created a programme that has been percolating for many years on a subject I feel deeply passionate about, "The Empowered Parenting Programme".Parenting is one of the most challenging and complex roles we will ever have. Yet, we have little or no training and the primary training we have to draw from is how we were parented, which is often outdated and no longer fit for purpose.Therefore, for our children to have the best chance of being able to experience the ability to make healthy future decisions and have good mental health, we need to know more. As a society, we have all the information we need at our fingertips, which is not a luxury previous generations had. Even though it’s available to us, it’s often steeped in a language that is difficult to digest.I aim to help parents truly understand their child's emotional developmental needs in a way that is easy to consume, together with exploring their experiences of how they were parented and how this influences their decision making today.Feeling confident that we know what we’re doing is all any of us want whilst we're raising our little people. I, for one, DID NOT feel confident and calm; in fact, I felt like I was flying by the seat of my pants most of the time. So, let’s dispel some of the fears and create the confidence needed to harvest a strong relationship with our children now and in the future by truly understanding what it takes for us to be the parent we want to be.

Working on behalf of Optum health, in conjunction with local businesses such as Rolls Royce, BT, and DHL, offering face to face counselling, together with critical incident work and psychological first aid.

Coordination of school deliveries for 'Childline school service' within the county of Nottinghamshire.

The role consists of delivering Assembly's and Workshops to children age 9-11 on all aspects of abuse. Importance is given to ensuring the effective delivery of the 'Childline school service' key messages, and helping children to understand that abuse is wrong and never their fault, together with where they can access support.

This position included working extensively with the client group and then going on to develop and deliver the in house training programme (35 hours training time) for new counselling placement volunteers. In addition to this I provided group clinical supervision for the telephone helpline support workers.

Delivered counselling training within the CPCAB framework.

I was a group and individual supervisor for trainee therapists that were embarking on the MA Integrative Counselling Practice.

My role consisted of assessing and risk assessing the Counselling needs of clients entering the service, whilst containing the process. It was important to ensure that the client was allocated to an appropriately experienced therapist and ensuring that the limitations newly trained therapists were taken into consideration.
