Established in 1983, TATO present 300-plus members to-date.This is equivalent to 78.48 percent of the total licensed tour operators in Tanzania. The Association is the Government recognized tour operator’s representative.In Tanzania, tour operators enjoy a conducive business environment as TATO represents a collective voice for private tour operators in lobbying and advocate towards the common goal of improving the business climate, through friendly policies.The organization also offers its members various training on key issues such as tourism marketing trends, labour laws, tax compliance, corporate social responsibility, cyber laws, and conservation, among others.TATO provides unparalleled networking opportunities, allowing individuals tour operators or companies to connect with their peers, mentors, and other industry leaders and policymakers like President, Vice-President, Prime Minister, Ministers, Permanent secretaries, Director General for Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA), Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA) Conservator for Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), Chief Park Wardens, among others.

While continuing to lead Meliá Zanzibar with the team in place, I was delighted having the opportunity to open in August 2019 the first Gran Meliá brand in Africa and flagship hotel in Arusha following a fruitful & strong partnership with Albwardy Investment.Gran Meliá Arusha have 171 rooms with several top outlets and a signature restaurant. GFS (previously known under Gunter Facilities Supplies) was established in 2003 and run by experienced hoteliers to serve other hoteliers.Offered tailor-made concept for clients and specialised in providing Hotels Amenities, Accessories, Linen and OS&E to all categories of Hotels/Apartments/Spa/Golf. Collaborating with several major hotels chains, many more individual properties as well airlines.Hereunder are some of the tasks and duty done:• Formulating and successfully implementing company policy• Active role in managing the business development function• Directing strategy towards the profitable growth and operation of the company• Implements strategy on how to lead the team to exceed client expectations and win additional business• Developing strategic operating plans that reflect the longer-term objectives and priorities established by the company owners• Managing operational planning and financial control systems• Ensuring that the business objectives and performance standards are well understood by all employees• Managing and monitoring the financial results against plans and budgets• Taking remedial action where necessary and informing the owners of significant changes• Maintaining the operational performance of the research department• Assuming full accountability to the owners for all company business• Representing the company to major customers and professional associations

Oversaw the construction and development (along with contractors, architects, interior designers, project managers & owners) of this $35 million dollars 5* Deluxe Boutique Hotel project during the pre opening. Prepared the entire OS&E budget and selected all the equipment to operate the hotel. Prepared the pre and post opening Sales & Marketing activities, including the creation and implementation of advertising, collateral & the web page. Recruited the initial Senior Management Team and introduced & developed a new concept of luxury service unique to Zanzibar. Developed a positive work environment for all 220 employees, as well as developing and contributing to the local community and environment related initiatives. Maintain a high level of cooperation between owning co and hotel owners.The 40 suites & 9 villas successfully opened in June 2011. Maximized performance, profitability. Achieved guest satisfaction levels of 99% within the first 24 months of operation. Develop and implement Amer Group strategic plan in the most effective and time efficient manner for the long term future for its Red Sea Region development. Responsible for the strategic positioning, execution and operation of this forthcoming development of 2 million square meters which comprises hotels, 1,676 apartments, 4,000 villas under construction, the first Cable Car in Egypt, construction of an18-hole golf course and a yacht marina.

It was a real pride to be the first General Manager leading a team of young and dynamic individuals responsible for launching Essque Palm Jumeirah a true 5* deluxe Hotel (309 rooms and 5 restaurants) on the iconic Palm Jumeirah. Essque Hotels was a new luxury hospitality concept launched in the UAE in 2007 with the aim of opening and operating a number of iconic installations in key gateway locations in the local, regional and international marketplace. Hotel project was stopped in November 2008 due to the financial crisis!

Worked at the Head Quarters to head few projects:• On a special corporate assignment to set up the group Spa identity, brand standards and Spa operation within all Naïade Resorts (Mauritius - Maldives - Seychelles - La Reunion).• Overlook newly acquired resorts that went under refurbishment.
