My work at Sanford School is both cross-departmental and cross-divisional. I work with Middle school and Upper school students, supporting students from 6th to 10th grade.In the Latin department I create projects, implement mnemonics, and build language foundations. The Latin department at Sanford does not follow a textbook. I write every translation that appears on an assessment, which demonstrates my adaptability to challenges.My English classroom is structured around the Harkness Model. I often lead the class in analytical discussion of texts, but I also utilize group activities and incorporate creativity in my lesson planning. I write objectives for each class period, deduce the foci from each text, and assess student comprehension.

I completed seasonal work for Nordstrom across three summers and one winter, and I fielded repeated requests for my return due to high productivity and reliability. My responsibilities included fulfilling online web orders as they arrived at the store, mastering the hand-held devices for scanning and printing orders, and maintaining a positive customer atmosphere. My work contributed the store's position as the store with the top fulfillment rate in the region for the entire 2017 summer sale.

My responsibilities as a Writing Fellow were to work closely with incoming honors freshmen as they adjusted to college level writing expectations. I provided in depth constructive commentary on three different writing samples across each semester. Course topics I supported include: Shakespeare, Virgil's Reception, the Outlaw Mythos, and Tyrants: from Oedipus to Hitler. Each semester I read and commented on paper drafts created by a class of students. This process also included holding conferences with each student to provide in-person coaching. In these meetings, I focused on strengthening student writing foundations by emphasizing analysis, organization, and critical thinking. I also collaborated with professors to understand their courses. I worked with a new professor each semester, and had to adapt to each professor's style, expectations, and requirements.

My position at the Hartford Public Library and the Old State House was to provide support for the teams, assist with research, and support events.At the library, I provided research support by reading books to then summarize for events. I read a book by a man who biked across the country, which was in preparation for the library's involvement in a bike race. At the Old State House, I researched facts about Connecticut to provide to those completing a citizenship test. I gained public speaking experience at the Old State House by learning to conduct tours and assist with visiting school groups. I was positioned at the front desk, and often began tours by greeting visitors and providing introductory information.
