Human resources is as much about the human element as it is managing risk and assessing the data that hopefully drives our practice. Gone are the days of guesswork. We have numerous tools available to gather data, and we have the best source available: the employees we serve. My passion is people. Staff engagement and retention require a bit of creativity and a heap of passion, sincerity, and persistence. I practice bringing my best self to work each day while remaining teachable. Not every day is my finest, but it is all about the intent. Employees know sincerity, and they are my greatest teachers. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog, camping, and listening to a good audiobook - I’ve been listening to audiobooks since the Walkman!
