I was the senior finance member of the leadership team with the responsibility to deliver the forecast / budgeted EBITA number. We had weekly and monthly reporting (in USGAAP). The business had a matrix structure and for most of my time my line manager was based abroad.Projects: • SAP implementation• Global Expense (Concur) web based expense system implementation• Integration of businesses (both the trade and a site)• Closure of businessesAchievements:• Reduced AR from 60 days to 40 by requiring detailed analysis and ensuring that whole business owned the issue.• Managed to close business (after transfer to other sites) without fall in staff morale or loss of internal controls• Reduce monthly close from 6 days to 4 by analysing critical path and moving as much work as possible out of the close period

Joined the company in a situation where there was no hand-over with the previous controller. This meant it was in at the deep end learning the ERP system (Russell Adams) and gaining the trust of staff.Unfortunately after just over a year the parent company decided to consolidate the business back to the US.
