Since August 2018, I have transitioned into processing claims for Sickness Allowance from the Australian Public. In this role, I assess claims against criteria set out in applicable legislation and decide a claim is accepted or declined. This helped to maintain an accurate register of information to assist Departmental activities in funding key programs and formulate future policy across Australia. I also received and actioned as appropriate individual requests from grant agreement managers. These have included creating new grant agreements or varying existing agreements in a manner as directed by the grant agreement managers in line with departmental policy and legislative requirements, taking great care to ensure that grant funding payments are made in an accurate and timely manner. The feedback I have received from my supervisors on the four dozen requests I have completed to date have been positive.In this role, I also coordinated correspondence through various mediums as required between internal and external stakeholders throughout Australia to ensure a consistent approaching to funding and operation of grant activities in excess of $60 billion per annum. I also provided training and support to new team members not familiar with existing processes.The team, now known as the Client Agency Team, transitioned to the Grants Administration Hub within the Department of Social Services in December 2017.
