National Science Foundation Sponsored Research through the Center for Advanced Non-Ferrous Structural Alloys – Researched high ductility high entropy alloys for use in high temperature applications. Also researched RS8009 Aluminium alloys to determine structural changes due to changing composition. Skills required: laboratory safety, casting, sample prep, analysis using XRD and SEM, heat treatment.

Collaborated with sales team to make the Lone Tree location one of the most profitable locations in the Runners Roost portfolio. Skills required: teamwork, working with difficult customers while maintaining quality and consistent customer service, listening to provide accurate service for customer’s needs, and gait analysis.

Englewood, Colorado

Conducted Gold-Telluride Flotation R&D study resulting in a 1% increase in gold production (several million dollars) at the Cripple Creek & Victor site. Also conducted metallurgical testwork in support of the Malozemoff Technical Facility and other global Newmont operations. Testwork included flotation, comminution, leaching, and other metallurgical testwork. At the end of the internship, the findings from the flotation study were presented to the laboratory staff as well as members of the executive leadership team at an intern exposition.

Led weekly lab meetings, assisted in development of class curriculum, led one lab section (approx. 25 students), assisted students during lab procedure, and advised on projects.
