Project "Tolerance in Muslim Politics: Political Theory beyond the ‘West’. The ERC-funded project is aimed to investigate the place of tolerance in the political thought of two influential religious public intellectuals in Pakistan. The project attempts to uncover existing mechanisms in place within the particularly fraught context of Pakistan’s tribal refugees who have moved from a closely knit society to the diverse and to the urban centres of Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. The research centres on the life histories of tribal Pashtuns living in Pakistani cities, with a focus on their experience of displacement and loss due to drone attacks and military operations in their native tribal areas alongside the Pak-Afghan border.

Campaign: LGBTI Rights and Integration: Campaign for creating awareness and advocacyProject: “Capacity Building & Social Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture in NWFP, Pakistan”The LGBTI rights campaign aimed to involve religious, traditional leadership, and youth for integrating LGBTI persons into the community. In the campaign, I met with religious and traditional leaders to use their influence and credibility effectively for addressing LGBTI rights. I also established a group of Young Changemakers, who pledged their support for the LGBTI rights campaign. I supported the Youth groups to promote the concept of ‘All Equal’. I trained 28 young persons and 14 NGOs personnel in LGBTQ and Human Rights. I networked and built alliances with like-minded organisations to ensure effective synergies.I also managed the “Capacity Building & Social Rehabilitation of Victims of Torture in NWFP” project, where I planned and implemented project activities for the social rehabilitation of victims of torture.
