In my adjunct role as the Senior Course/Conference Manager for API's national meeting, Pathology Informatics Summit, I work with the PI Summit Planning Committee and the Assistant Conference Manager on all aspects of conference planning and meeting management. My job specific duties include but are not limited to writing promotional materials, creating email blasts to promote the conference to recruit vendor to exhibit at the meeting, to promote and increase participant registration at the meeting, and to relay important information to speakers. Assist with design of print ads and conference program in conjunction with our graphic designer and ordering supplies and promotional materials for the conference. I am responsible for setting up the online event registration and managing payments for the invent as well as managing the conference budget, catering, working directly with vendors related to their exhibition at the meeting, working directly with the hotel to ensure proper set up of meeting space, A/V, catering, room blocks, and all other pertinent issues related to the location of the meeting. I also work with ensuring that we meet criteria for offering CMEs for the conference through our joint relationship with the ASCP, which includes keeping detailed records and documentation about the conference planning, commercial support, conflict of interest for speakers and submitting this information to the ASCP to ensure that all registered participants that require CMEs receive them post-conference.
