I am a theoretical and computational physicist with a decade-long track record in research, marked by the authorship of 16+ papers in condensed matter physics, mathematical physics (nonlinear PDEs), and nonlinear optics and dynamics. I enjoy unraveling complex puzzles across diverse domains, often integrating techniques from other fields and thriving in collaborative work environments. My work seamlessly blends analytical and computational methods. I specialize in crafting solutions from the ground up, starting with simple yet insightful models solvable on a blackboard and progressively adding layers of complexity that demand the capabilities of supercomputers.

Graduate Student Research AssistantBerkeley Lab May 2021 - PresentBerkeley, California, United StatesWorking with Dr. Sinéad Griffin and using a variety of approaches such as density functional theory and GW calculations, I study the viability of different topological systems as sensors, with applications in quantum sensing, solid-state physics, and dark matter detection. -
Graduate Student ResearcherUniversity Of California, Berkeley Aug 2019 - May 2021Berkeley, California, United StatesWorking with Professor Steven G. Louie, I studied topological systems using ab initio methods such as density functional theory (DFT). I performed calculations on supercomputers using Quantum ESPRESSO, Wannier90, and several other tools to study the topological properties of the system Bi4Te3.Moreover, I studied transition metal dichalcogenides under pressure using GW-BSE methods. -
Berkeley Graduate FellowUniversity Of California, Berkeley Aug 2017 - May 2019Berkeley, California, United StatesAwarded the prestigious Berkeley Graduate Fellowship to pursue my interests in mathematical physics and condensed matter theory and experiment. I performed experimental work in transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and photonics, as well as theoretical work on free-fermion symmetry protected topological states. Additionally, I pursued independent work on the mathematical physics of nonlinear Schrodinger equations, culminating in my MS thesis from the Applied Science and Technology Program with a focus in Applied Physics. -
Graduate Student ResearcherNsf Nanoscale Science And Engineering Center, Uc Berkeley Aug 2017 - Jan 2018Berkeley, California, United StatesI participated in experimental studies of transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) and performed simulations of photonic waveguides and resonators.

Research AssistantTexas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (Tees) Jan 2016 - May 2017College Station, Texas, United StatesI studied X-ray diffraction in metal thin films using a home-built tabletop setup. I additionally developed a code to perform simulations, using the two-temperature model (TTM) with temperature-dependent coefficients, to simulate these experiments. Further, I studied biophysical systems using pump-probe spectroscopy and wrote code to analyze the spectroscopic signatures of bacteria using principal component analysis. -
Research AssistantTexas A&M University Jan 2014 - May 2017College Station, Texas, United StatesWorking with professors Milivoj Belic and Siu Chin, I extensively studied the nonlinear Schrodinger hierarchy using mathematical and numerical tools. I wrote massively parallel code for both CPU and GPU clusters (in C), as well as several libraries in MATLAB and Python. I additionally used several theoretical methods such as the Darboux transformation to study these systems. Major contributions include the development of the Peak Height Formula for the nonlinear Schrodinger hierarchy. My research in this area has led to 10 peer-reviewed publications. -
Research AssistantFoundation For Research And Technology - Hellas (Forth) Institute Of Electronic Structure & Laser May 2015 - Aug 2015Iráklion, Crete, GreeceMachined waveguide arrays using femtosecond lasers and measured their coupling coefficients for applications in nonlinear optics and optical communication.
