Rotating mainly at UPMC Presbyterian hospital, as well as at UPMC Shadyside, UPMC Mercy, and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, I interpret a high volume of cases covering a broad range of pathologies, at all levels of complexity and urgency. I care for patients with all varieties of neurologic, neurosurgical and otolaryngologic problems. This is provided through study interpretations under expert supervision, direct procedural patient care, patient counseling, consultations with clinicians in the reading room, and participation in a multitude of interdisciplinary conferences. I receive training on functional, structural, and advanced imaging techniques, as well as a broad range of spine interventions, from pain management procedures to diagnostic techniques such as discography and spine biopsies. .

As a radiologist-in-training, I interpreted exams from all modalities, and reviewed the cases with an attending physician, communicating significant results to the ordering clinician and providing further counseling when necessary. I also assisted, and later performed, various interventional procedures. Rotations were split almost equally between the academic and private practice setting, with both major hospitals involved being Level I Trauma centers and Comprehensive Stroke Centers. Training included equitable in-house call and weekend coverage.

Helped the program director with managing the resident team, with one of my co-residents. Duties included scheduling overnight and weekend call, managing conflicts, communicating policy changes and requesting such changes on behalf of the resident team, as well as representing the residency in various hospital-wide committees.

Cared for surgical patients in various settings within a busy suburban Level I trauma center. Highlights include peri-operative patient care on the floors and in clinic, inpatient consults, ER coverage including surgical consults and traumas, and scrubbing-in on a broad spectrum of cases.

Provided medical care in various hospital-based settings (floors, clinic, ER, ICU, delivery ward, peri-operative care), throughout the core clinical specialties, including overnight call. Three elective months spent rotating on neurosurgery.
