I am a partner at DMH Stallard specialising in insolvency and restructuring. I advise directors, individuals, security holders and investors on all aspects of insolvency, corporate recovery and reconstruction. I act for insolvency practitioners throughout the South East, instigating formal insolvency processes and in the protection and realisation of assets.My particular focus is on contentious insolvency, encompassing the recovery of dividends and directors’ loans, as well as allegations of directors’ misfeasance, antecedent transactions, and wrongful trading. I also advise in relation to corporate fraud and directors’ disqualification proceedings.My work includes personal insolvency, assisting individuals and trustees in bankruptcy in relation to all aspects of bankruptcy, including investigations, interviewing bankrupts, the protection or realisation of assets and bankruptcy annulment.More broadly, I have many years’ experience advising on commercial contract disputes, shareholder disputes, partnership disputes and professional negligence. I also advise on contentious trusts and probate where disputes arise in respect of the validity of wills, the administration of estates, and claims by disappointed beneficiaries under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.I am listed in the current edition of the Legal 500 which notes that I “stand out as being highly knowledgeable and well respected; he takes a commercially pragmatic approach to all of his cases, and is confident in dealing with private client matters”.
