Thesis title: Manipulation of host nuclear function by Chlamydia trachomatis.I completed my PhD at the Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology, jointly run by University College London and Birkbeck, University of London.My PhD work focused on deciphering the relationship between the intracellular pathogen Chlamydia trachomatis and the host nucleus. To examine this, I used a combinaton of molecular, cell and computational biology techniques, as well as imaging by confocal and electron microscopy.I was awarded the Nature Reviews Microbiology prize for best poster at the London Postgraduate Symposium on Pathogen Host Response in November 2014, and was awarded MRC funding to attend a course on advanced imaging of molecular complexes inside living cells in Amsterdam in June 2015.
