It took moving halfway across the world for me to discover my passion for communicating with people. Looking back, it should have been obvious. By the age of 10, I had already created a weekly magazine, which I distributed among my friends, and hosted an off-air radio show called Peacock Live. But for a long time, I equated passion and enjoyment with the pursuit of hobbies, not something with serious career potential. Now, I wake up each morning in disbelief that I get paid to do the things I am genuinely passionate about. Nothing brings me greater satisfaction than being able to connect with people through meaningful storytelling and making sense of chaos. If I am being honest, I would do this for free!In my roles in DC, Tokyo, and Sydney, I have learned how to find comfort in uncomfortable situations. I thrive when solving problems and enjoy building common ground within and between teams. My background in language study has helped me overcome cross-cultural barriers in both high and low-context environments. Additionally, my previous roles as Communications Director at the Japan-America Society of Washington DC and Communications Associate at the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan have equipped me with hard and soft skills in marketing, PR, and strategic communications.
