Addressing the interlinked biodiversity and climate crises requires urgent transformative actions to halt our impacts on nature and to mitigate against future change. I’m optimistic this can happen, that we can bend the curve of biodiversity loss, and reach a nature positive future. However, it requires leaders to put nature and local communities more at the heart of decision-making and change-makers to work collaboratively to scale up the implementation of nature-based solutions.As a biodiversity consultant, I work with thought-leaders and inspirational corporate teams working tirelessly to deliver this change. I have experience developing ambitious biodiversity strategies for companies across different sectors, identifying impacts and dependencies, and translating these into risks for disclosures and target-setting. Following these steps, I also have experience designing biodiversity monitoring plans and leading fieldwork across temperate, tropical, and desert environments.Into my consultancy work, I bring technical knowledge from a PhD that investigated the influence of our long-term impacts on ecological communities around the world. Bringing these insights to the table can be crucial to help envisage the extent of nature recovery needed to restore functioning and resilient ecosystems. Throughout my education, I gained extensive experience in individual, and collaborative, project development, management, statistical analyses, and report writing for fieldwork and desk-based projects in conservation and ecology that resulted in numerous scientific publications.
