As one of two Gore Family Home Guides, I played a pivotal role in connecting Associates with the origins and ethos of the Gore enterprise. The tours I conducted in the home's basement, now a museum marking where the business was founded in 1958, were designed to fulfill multiple goals: connecting Associates to Gore's humble beginnings, increasing engagement, reinforcing company culture, and instilling a sense of pride in being a part of Gore. During these tours, I shared a deep understanding of Gore’s history, the Gore family, Gore's unique culture, and the beginnings of Gore's material science expertise. The feedback I received from these tours, which typically involved small groups of 5-10 Associates, consistently reflected appreciation for my knowledge and clarity in communicating these concepts. Associates often expressed gratitude for the opportunity to learn and find inspiration in the company's humble beginnings, leaving the tours with a heightened sense of connection and inspiration.
