I serve as the Co-director, overseeing the entire Southwest Regional chapter of LMSA,which encompasses medical schools and undergraduate schools in TX, CO, NM, AR,LA, and OK. Additionally, I supervise ten other regional officers, develop eventsthroughout the year, vote on the National LMSA board, and create, plan, and host a300+ attended conference targeted towards uplifting future Latino physicians and ourcommunities.Prior to being director, I was president of my LMSA chapter for my school. Immediately after graduating from college, I pursued my passion for EM by enrollingin an EMT program and earning my certification shortly thereafter. Knowing I wantedto become an EM physician, I quickly joined one of the busiest EmergencyDepartments in the nation to gain invaluable experiences and connections. In thisfast-paced environment, I performed a range of critical duties, including:• Conducting blood draws, inserting intravenous and foley catheters, cleaning wounds,and applying various extremity splints (e.g., sugar tong, volar, ulnar gutter, coaptation,and more)• Skillfully operating medical devices such as the i-STAT, Glucometer, andElectrocardiogram machineMy stalwart performance also led to several recognitions.*Awarded Employee of the Month for June 2020*Awarded Rookie of the Year for 2020*Nominated for Best Team Player, Best All-Around, and Best Bedside Manner for 2020

As a first-generation college student, navigating college and the path to medical schoolwas challenging. Along the way, I attended several seminars and learned about the lackof representation for people of color (POC) in education and the low retention rates forthose who are included. This inspired me to act. I co-founded PaDelante ("MovingForward") to address these issues. As co-founder and president, I led initiatives focusedon improving POC retention through:• Mentorship• Education (both cultural and academic), and• Community building
