About Pamela Marcus

I began my career as a pediatric physical therapist working with disabled children and babies. I specialized as a feeding therapist in the neonatal nursery and became concerned when I learned about the dangers of plastic and witnessed excessive plastic waste in the hospital. I saw a need for healthy, environmentally friendly products in the infant industry and founded Lifefactory in 2007. Lifefactory quickly grew into a leading innovative lifestyle company providing reusable glass bottles with protective silicone sleeves for the entire family. Lifefactory has become an international market leader with global distribution. I served as CEO in the early years. Lifefactory was sold to Thermos in 2017.I co-founded and was CEO of a second start-up, The Cookie Department, a functional food company based in Berkeley, CA for over three years, from August 2011 to April 2015. Currently I am Project Manager for the musical group Toro y Moi and Company Records and Studios, a creative collaborative agency. I am responsible for trademarks, merchandise sales, special projects, marketing and branding. I am also the Executive Producer of an upcoming video called, "Pamela" by Company Studios. I serve on the board of Women's Audio Mission, a San Francisco-based nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women in music technology and STEM. WAM uses music and media to attract and connect 1,500+ under-served Bay Area girls and women every year to free STEM/music technology training, mentoring, and career/educational counseling. WAM helps girls use technology to amplify their voices and creativity, inspiring them to become innovators.Besides interest in the sustainable community, other interests include cryptocurrency, blockchain innovations, women's issues and diversity and equality in the workplace.
