Her foundational expertise was gained in her fast-track career with the U.S. Office of Personnel Management as a human resources professional, including a senior executive position directing operations of the Civil Service Retirement System.Pat specializes in helping groups solve organizational problems and plan high level organizational initiatives. Her method for conducting group sessions is to focus on the client’s unique needs, take as much of the load off the client as possible, and call as little attention as possible to herself and the technology she uses in order to avoid distracting the group from their task. In both face-to-face and virtual classes, Pat’s training approach is highly interactive, promoting discovery learning and high levels of engagement. Her aim is to meet participants where they are in their level of knowledge and in their need/desire to know—preferably just in time, responding to their comments, questions, and indication of interests. Subjects that Pat teaches include managing people, team effectiveness, communications, collaboration, problem solving, leadership, emotional intelligence, and managing conflict. A lively deliverer of content provided by the client, Pat has also developed her own content, including what Federal supervisors need to know about HR, interviewing skills, business writing, career transition, and how to manage teleworkers. Pat skillfully employs virtual training and adapts training content to virtual delivery.
