Additional services for the Franchisors included the filing of trademark applications, drafting of lease agreements, drafting complaints against Franchisees, and general review of overall compliance with the Federal Trade Commission.While 75% of my employment involved Franchisors, the other 25% involved tax, employment, and general business. In the tax area, I represented both counties and citizens in tax appeals. In the employment area, I drafted employee handbooks, social media policies, and severance packages. My involvement with general business (outside of Franchisors) included: research and drafting of legal memorandums; drafting of motions, answers, interrogatories, and discovery requests; and the performance of due diligence for a merger between two non-profit entities.

Supply Chain & Legal intern in the Purchasing Department & C-Suite of Centurion Medical Products, Inc. Centurion sells custom medical trays to hospitals and doctors' offices. As a result of offering custom trays, there were hundreds of suppliers and hundreds of thousands of different products. My supply chain undergraduate degree allowed me to conceptually understand the processes of purchasing. My legal education prepared me to get involved in the contracts with suppliers.My main assignment my second year of interning was the creation of a supply agreement to be used with suppliers who were creating custom products for Centurion. There were a number of concerns, i.e., proprietary information, indemnity, discounts, and maintaining an amicable relationship. There were eight buyers in the Purchasing Department and they required custom supply agreements with 25 different suppliers. I met with each buyer to get information about the current relationship, what the expectations were, what problems they may foresee, and additionally, walked them through each provision in the supply agreement so they could have a basic understanding of what was being agreed upon.In addition to the supply agreement, I performed other minor projects. I was in charge of weekly purchases (using SAP) of a particularly high volume product. I created a uniform filing system of all agreements, including company and third party agreements. Lastly, I performed Executive administrative work for the Chief Operating Officer.
