While earning my BA in English I was constantly asked to proof and edit my classmates essays and papers. This gave me great insight into how valuable and needed the editor's skills are. I am a collaborative editor and really enjoy working with writers to help them get their stories and POV across to their readers. I polish and refine, direct the focus of the story or article along a particular course. I make sure the writer’s work says what the writer intends and says it in the writer’s voice and with his sensibilities. My job is to make a story, article, or manuscript better. Better in terms of clarity, enjoyment, logic, flow, and meaning. Better in terms of meeting the needs of the audience.
