Salsus Design is an industrial design consultancy based in Mansfield. I worked on a number of projects and was involved in all stages of the product development process including dealing with clients. to be successful in this role I had to utilise CAD and sketch work skills to realise a client specification.

Part-time work managed alongside university studies. To be successful in the role I had to work well within a team, be proactive as well as exhibit excellent communication and social skills.

My main roles were to produce and maintain all Standard Operating Procedure Documents (SOPs) within the company as well as assist in updating the companies Quality Management System.SOPs are essentially detailed manuals documenting anything from assembling a product on the factory floor to updating Finance Spreadsheets. The manuals establish standard working procedures as well as act as an effective training tool. Producing the manuals allowed me to work with colleagues from all levels and departments of the company. To be successful in the role I had to be social, ask questions and observe others in their role to glean vital information to make the manuals.
