A business partnership role supporting several Reuters operating Divisions in the Americas. with a total workforce of around 4000. New York based.Developed consistent HR strategies across a wide range of business activities - based on sound OD/HR practices - which helped drive Reuters increasing penetration of the US financial and corporate markets.

Responsible for the operational management of the company's HR function globally. Charged with developing and coordinating worldwide programs and processes covering all Reuters staff. Role included responsibility for compensation and benefits for the company’s top 20 executives including Reuters Limited Board papers on remuneration for the CEO and Executive Directors

Strategic pan-Asian HR management role developing then coordinating a full range of HR services in Asia (including Japan, Australia and New Zealand) in a period of 30 - 40% annual business growth. HR staff: 17Established a wide range of HR programs across 14 countries including training, employee development, expatriate policy formulation and pension and benefit plans. Created an Asian management training and development program (0-1300 delegate days of training in Asia in two years.) Established employee appraisal, job evaluation/grading and personnel information systems tailored to needs of Asian workforce. Introduced competency based job analysis linked to Area Development Centers to evaluate and develop local management potential.

Held various roles:International Corporate Specialist based in the company's Paris HQ handling a range of projects in support of the various global businesses; HR Director International for the Measurement and Control Division based in The Hague supporting manufacturing operations across Europe and Latin America; HR Director, Asia for Dowell Schlumberger based in Singapore. (This role was moved to Abu Dhabi when it was expanded to include the Middle-East Region.)

Joined as a graduate trainee in the UK subsidiary's HR department. Transferred to the company's World HQ in Detroit in 1975 as an International Human Resources Representative for the International Division, coordinating pay and benefit structures and policy administration on a global basis. Returned to UK subsidiary in 1978 as HR Manager for the General Accounts Force providing a full service HR function to a 1000 strong sales and support workforce. Promoted to HR Manager Northern Europe based initially in Switzerland and the UK supporting subsidiary operations in Benelux, Scandinavia, and Germany.
