Mr. Byrd has over eighteen (18) years of experience in conducting traffic studies and transportation planning. He has substantial experience designing intersection flaring and channelization, horizontal transitions, and roundabouts. His operational experience includes several signal progression studies and micro simulations. Recent experience includes a transit study for a major transit corridor in Las Vegas, Nevada, which specifically looked at Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) options. Mr. Byrd also recently provided signal and geometric design for a BRT station in northwest Las Vegas. Since his arrival to Albuquerque, Mr. Byrd has worked on ITS expsnsion projects, many traffic capacity studies, signal retiming projects in New Mexico, and conducted several Roadside Safety Audits throughout the state. Mr. Byrd has expert experience in animated traffic simulation analyses, transit ridership analysis, traffic design, trip generation and assignment procedures, capacity/LOS calculations, and signal coordination analysis.
