Patrick Wall (he/him/his) lives and edits (and occasionally writes) in Phoenix, Arizona. At present, Patrick is the senior copy editor for the Musical Instrument Museum. In previous lives, he wrote for the University of South Carolina's College of Arts and Sciences; worked on editing desks at leading content marketing firms in Massachusetts and North Carolina; and was music editor of Free Times, the bygone alternative newsweekly in Columbia, South Carolina. In seven years behind Free Times’s music desk, he won six awards for reporting and writing from the South Carolina Press Association. (He won another freelancing for the paper, too.)Patrick's writing on the arts, culture, and popular and classical music has appeared in Asheville’s Mountain Xpress, Charleston’s City Paper, Charlotte’s Creative Loafing, Charlottesville’s C-Ville, Columbia’s Free Times, Raleigh-Durham's Indy Week, Richmond’s Style, and Salt Lake City’s City Weekly; in the glossy magazines Blurt, Jasper, and Shuffle; on the websites Charlotte Viewpoint, Drawer B, and Dusted; and in what he can only assume are the seat-back pockets on Air Force One. Patrick is a graduate of the University of South Carolina’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications, where he was managing editor of the Carolina Reporter student newspaper.
