Patrick B. Cook has been employed with MITRE Corporation since 2010 where he focuses on issues vital to National Security and Law Enforcement. Prior to joining MITRE Corporation he was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) retiring after 22 years as a Deputy Assistant Director (DAD).

Patrick B. Cook entered on duty with the FBI in 1988 and upon graduating from new agents’ class reported for duty to the Newark Division where he worked Counterintelligence and White Collar Crime investigations, to include an assignment to the New Jersey United States Secret Service West African Intelligence Task Force. In 1994, he was awarded the National Intelligence Certificate of Distinction by the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency for his ability to select, recruit and operate highly placed intelligence sources. In 1997, he was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) overseeing Counterintelligence and White Collar Criminal investigative matters in the Newark Division. In 2000, he was promoted to FBIHQ as Unit Chief, Middle East Unit, International Terrorism Operations Section, Counterterrorism Division where he developed an expertise in Radical Islamic Terrorism. In 2002, he was promoted to the Washington Field Office (WFO) as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of Counterterrorism where he was responsible for International Terrorism investigative matters to include all overseas investigations handled by the WFO. In 2003, he deployed to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as the Deputy On-Scene Commander overseeing day-to-day operations during the RIYADBOMB investigation. In 2005, he was promoted to the, Senior Executive Service (SES), FBIHQ, as Special Assistant to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) where he provided day-to-day management and investigative counsel to the CIO in matters pertaining to FBI Information Technology. In August 2007, he was promoted to DAD for the Operational Technology Division (OTD) overseeing an FBI division of 700+ FBI employees and an annual budget exceeding 450 million dollars.

Prior to entering on duty with the FBI Patrick B. Cook served in the United States Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer where he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal, for his service onboard USS TRENTON in support of the multi-national peacekeeping force in Beirut, Lebanon.
